Kanban Boards
Boards are the core of project management in is.team. Each board is a pipeline-style kanban view with columns and tasks — drag, drop, and customize to match your workflow.
What Is a Kanban Board?
A kanban board organizes work into vertical columns that represent stages of progress. Tasks move from left to right as they advance through your pipeline — giving your team a clear, visual overview of what's happening at any moment.
To Do
Tasks waiting to be started. This is the default first column in every new board.
In Progress
Active work. Drag a task here when someone starts working on it.
Done
Completed tasks. Move items here when they're finished.
Default Columns
Every new board comes with three columns out of the box: To Do, In Progress, and Done. These cover the most common workflow, but you can change them at any time.
Customizable Columns
Boards are fully customizable. You can tailor columns to fit your team's process.
- 1
Rename columns
Double-click a column header to edit its name. Press Enter to save.
- 2
Reorder columns
Drag a column by its header to move it left or right within the board.
- 3
Add a column
Click the + button at the right edge of the board to add a new column.
- 4
Remove a column
Right-click a column header and select Delete column. Tasks in that column will be moved to the previous column.
Drag-and-Drop
Drag any task card between columns to change its status. You can also reorder tasks within a column by dragging them up or down. Changes are synced in real-time — every team member sees updates instantly.
Board Settings
Each board has its own settings accessible from the board header. You can configure:
Board Name
Give your board a descriptive name that reflects its purpose (e.g. 'Sprint 12', 'Bug Tracker').
Board Color
Pick a header color to visually distinguish boards on the canvas.
Column Management
Add, rename, reorder, or remove columns to match your workflow stages.
Board Position
Freely drag and position the board anywhere on the infinite canvas.
Info
The number of boards you can create depends on your plan. Free workspaces include up to 3 boards. Upgrade to Pro or Max for more boards.
