Voice Calls
Jump into voice meetings with screen sharing without leaving your workspace. Powered by Daily.co, voice calls are always one click away.
Joining a Call
Each workspace has a persistent voice room that is always available — no scheduling required.
- 1
Open the voice panel
Click the headphones icon in the right panel of your workspace.
- 2
Grant microphone permission
Your browser will ask for microphone access the first time. Allow it to continue.
- 3
Click Join
Press the Join button and you are in the call. A join sound plays to let others know you have entered.
During the Call
Mute / Unmute
Toggle your microphone on or off at any time. A visual indicator shows your current mic state.
Speaking Detection
The active speaker's avatar pulses with an animation, making it easy to follow the conversation.
Participant Limit
Up to 30 participants can join a single voice room at the same time.
Join / Leave Sounds
Audio cues play when someone joins or leaves, so you always know who is in the room.
Screen Sharing
Share your screen during a voice call so everyone can follow along. One person can share at a time.
Start Sharing
Click the screen share icon in the bottom bar (next to Note Taker). Your browser will ask which screen, window, or tab to share.
Viewer Panel
Other participants see the shared screen in a floating panel. They can drag, resize, minimize, or go fullscreen.
One at a Time
Only one person can share their screen at a time. The button is disabled while someone else is sharing.
Presenter Indicator
The sharing user's avatar shows a blue screen icon so everyone knows who is presenting.
Leaving the Call
Click the red Leave button to exit the voice room. A leave sound plays to notify remaining participants.
Warning
Voice calls require microphone permission in your browser. If you accidentally denied access, update your browser's site settings and reload the page.
Plan Availability
Voice calls are available on Pro and Max plans only. Free and Starter workspaces do not have access to voice features.
Noise Cancellation
Background noise — keyboard clatter, fans, café chatter — is filtered out of your microphone before it reaches other participants. Powered by Krisp, the same engine Google Meet uses, it's on by default the moment you join. Chromium-based browsers and Safari are fully supported; on other browsers it's a no-op so audio still flows.
Background Music When You're Alone
Stay in the room while you wait for teammates — when you're the only person in a voice call, a curated background track fades in. A small floating pill in the bottom-right shows the current track and gives you skip / pause / mute controls. As soon as someone else joins, the music fades out so it never interrupts the conversation.
Customise the track list, volume, and shuffle from Canvas Settings → Voice Music. You can opt out entirely with the master toggle.
