Invite Your Team
is.team is built for collaboration. Invite your teammates to a workspace so everyone can work on the same canvas, boards, and tasks in real time.
How to Invite Members
Sending an invitation takes just a few clicks. Here's the process:
- 1
Open Workspace Settings
Click the workspace name in the top-left corner, then select Settings from the dropdown.
- 2
Go to the Members tab
In the settings panel, switch to the Members tab. You'll see the current member list and an invite form.
- 3
Enter their email
Type the email address of the person you want to invite and click Send Invite.
- 4
They accept the invite
The recipient gets an email with an invitation link. When they click it, they're taken to is.team to accept and join the workspace.
Tip
You can also invite teammates during workspace creation. The onboarding wizard includes an invite step right after naming your workspace — no need to wait until setup is complete.
The Invite Flow
Here's what happens behind the scenes when you send an invitation:
- 1
Invite created
A unique invite token is generated and stored. The invitation email is sent via our transactional email service.
- 2
Email delivered
The recipient receives an email with a personalized link containing the invite token.
- 3
Recipient clicks the link
The link opens is.team's invite acceptance page. If the recipient doesn't have an account, they'll be prompted to sign up first.
- 4
Member joins
Once accepted, the new member appears in the workspace and gets access to all boards and tasks based on their role.
Roles & Permissions
Every workspace member has a role that controls what they can do. There are three roles:
Owner
Full control over the workspace. Can manage billing, integrations, members, and all content. Each workspace has exactly one owner.
Admin
Can manage members (invite and remove), create and edit boards, and perform all task operations. Cannot access billing or integrations.
Member
Can create and edit tasks, leave comments, and collaborate on boards. Cannot manage members or workspace settings.
Warning
Only the workspace owner can manage integrations and billing. If you need to change the owner, the current owner must transfer ownership from Workspace Settings.
Seat Limits per Plan
The number of members you can have in a workspace depends on your plan. The owner always counts as one seat.
Free
1 seat. Solo use only — no additional members.
Starter
Up to 2 seats. Perfect for a duo or a small freelance partnership.
Pro
Up to 10 seats. Designed for growing teams that need room to scale.
Max
Up to 30 seats. For large teams and organizations.
Managing Members
From the Members tab in Workspace Settings, the owner and admins can:
- View all current members and their roles
- Send new invitations to add teammates
- Remove members who no longer need access
- See pending invitations that haven't been accepted yet
Info
When a new member joins, all existing members receive an in-app notification. The new member will also see a notification welcoming them to the workspace.
