Notifications
Stay informed about task updates, comments, daily digests, and standup reminders through in-app, email, and Slack notification channels. All scheduled notifications respect your timezone.
Notification Types
You receive notifications for the following events:
Comment on Subscribed Task
When someone comments on a task you are watching.
@Mention
When a teammate mentions you by name in a comment.
Invite Received
When you are invited to join a workspace.
Invite Accepted
When someone accepts your workspace invitation.
Task Assignment
When you are assigned to a task.
Due Date Reminder
When a task assigned to you is due tomorrow or overdue. Evaluated in your personal timezone.
Daily Board Digest
Morning email with overdue tasks, tasks due today, and yesterday's completed work — per board.
Daily Standup Reminder
Email and in-app notification when a board's scheduled standup is about to start.
Notification Channels
Notifications are delivered through three channels:
In-app
Real-time via Firestore listener. The bell icon in the right panel shows your unread count.
Configurable per notification type in Account Settings. All email notifications are enabled by default.
Slack
If your workspace has Slack integrated, task assignments and comments are sent to the configured channel.
Subscribing to Tasks
Control which tasks send you notifications by subscribing or unsubscribing.
- 1
Manual subscribe
Open a task and toggle Watch in the task modal to receive all updates for that task.
- 2
Auto-subscribe
You are automatically subscribed to a task when you are assigned to it or when you post a comment on it.
- 3
Unsubscribe
Toggle the Watch option off in the task modal to stop receiving updates.
Email Preferences
By default, all email notification types are enabled. You can customize which events trigger emails from Account Settings → Preferences. Toggle each notification type on or off to match your workflow.
Daily Board Digest
Every weekday morning, workspace members receive a digest email summarizing activity across all boards. The digest is sent at 7 AM in the workspace timezone, so distributed teams receive it at a sensible local hour.
What's included
Overdue tasks (with days overdue), tasks due today, tasks completed yesterday, and total open task count — grouped by board.
Smart filtering
Boards with no activity are skipped. You only receive a digest when there is something worth seeing.
Info
Workspace owners can set the workspace timezone in Workspace Settings → General. The digest uses this timezone to determine "today" and "yesterday".
Daily Standup Reminders
Board owners can schedule recurring standups per board. When enabled, team members get notified before and at the start of each standup.
- 1
Enable daily planning
Open Board Settings → Daily Planning and toggle it on.
- 2
Pick days and time
Choose which weekdays the standup runs and set the meeting time. Select the timezone for the schedule.
- 3
Configure email reminders
Optionally enable "Email when daily starts" and set a reminder (5, 10, 15, or 30 minutes before).
- 4
In-app countdown
Five minutes before the scheduled time, a countdown banner appears on the canvas with audio alerts every 30 seconds.
Timezone Awareness
is.team automatically detects your timezone at signup and saves it to your account. All scheduled notifications respect timezones:
Due date reminders
Evaluated in each user's personal timezone. A task due 'tomorrow' fires at the right time for each team member.
Daily board digest
Sent at 7 AM in the workspace timezone. Set the workspace timezone in Workspace Settings → General.
Standup reminders
Each board has its own timezone setting. Reminders fire at the board's configured local time.
Tip
Change your personal timezone in Account Settings → Preferences. A live clock preview shows the current time in your selected timezone.
Tip
You can customize which notifications trigger emails from Account Settings → Preferences. Disable the ones you do not need to keep your inbox clean.
